The Balance Method
Acupuncture treatments comprise of a detailed initial diagnosis, which usually takes 1 ½ -2 hours, followed on average by weekly treatment sessions of a 1 hour duration. At each session, a pulse and tongue diagnosis is made to ascertain the internal state and to check on the progress of the treatment.
Fine needles are inserted into acupuncture points located and linked on channels or meridians that lie under the skin through which the Qi, or the energies of the body flow. These points are carefully chosen by the practitioner following the diagnosis, and are used to disperse any blockages, tonify any deficiencies and reduce any excesses in the Qi. This allows the body’s natural healing response to take place to restore its natural balance. The more this balance is achieved and maintained, the healthier the body becomes.
Initially 4-5 treatments are recommended – acute conditions can be shorter in time and chronic ones longer. However, the treatments are reviewed regularly so that this frequency is continually updated.
Facial rejuvenation has a minimum of 6 sessions as it works on a cumulative effect of the treatments.
Within acupuncture the use of Moxa, cupping, electo-acupuncture, Tui Na, Guasha, auricular acupuncture and facial rejuvenation are employed as part of the therapeutic tools available.
