Who has acupuncture?

Everyone can have acupuncture, it is a personal choice. There are some ailments that will require discussion before beginning acupuncture treatment. 

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend on your reason for requiring acupucnture as it is a tailored treatment approach for each individual.

On avergae, most people will have 6-10 treatments.

Does acupuncture hurt?

The sensation with acupucnture can vary from a dull ache, an electric shock sensation to a spreading warmth. It is unique to the individual as to what they will feel as some people have a greater sensitivity to the Qi movement sensation.

Will acupuncture interfere with my medication?

No it will not. It is always advisable to consult your medical practitioner before beginning acupuncture treatment if you have regular medication.

How will I feel afterwards?

During and after treatment, there is often a deep sense of relaxation and can make you feel a bit 'spaced out'. The immediate 24-48 hours after treatment, the Qi will resettle and there can be an increase of symptoms which will then receed quickly.

Does private insurance cover acupuncture treatment?

You will need to check with your insurance provider as some companies do cover acupuncture treatments.
